MYS and FLY Signs MOU to Popularize Youth Policy
The Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) have signed a memorandum of understanding for the popularization and the implementation of the National Youth Policy document.
The youth policy document was developed as a result of regional consultations by Liberian Youth, validation and ratification and was launched.
At the signing ceremony, Youth and Sports, Minister D. Zeogar Wilson lauded UNFPA for the support and effort as it relates to development of the new National Youth Policy.
Minister Wilson also said that he expects FLY being the umbrella organization for the young people in Liberia to popularize the policy as it is written in the MOU for the period of one month ending April 30, 2020.
Representing the Liberian youth, the President of the Federation of Liberian Youth, Mr. Amos Williams thanked President George M. Weah for being that Ambassador for the young people of Liberia, he also thanked the UNFPA and others development partners for their support towards the government.
He assured MYS that FLY along with the Liberian National Student Union (LINSU) and Mano River Union Youth Parliament (MRUYP) are going to be on board in the spirit of one youth community voice as they popularize the document.
He closed by thanking Youth and Sports Deputy Minister for Youth Development, Isaac Doe and his Assistant Minister Emmanuel M. Johnson for making the dream of developing a new national youth policy come true.
