The Department's primary Objective is to oversee the accounting /Financial functions of the Ministry by supporting all Units to aching their planned activities and the overall Strategic goal of the ministry.

The Department is responsible to ensure that all requests for payment (Budgetary & Non-budgetary) are approved by the Deputy Minister for Administration or his designee before processing. The Department must prepare and submit quarterly and annual financial statements in a timely manner as enshrined in the public financial Management Art (Revised 2019) and   other reports as maybe required by senior management.

KEY RESULTS AREA

1. Ensure that the Ministry quarterly and annual financial statements are prepared in a timely manner for review by the Deputy Minister for Administration (DMA) and onward submission to the Comptroller and Accountant General Department as ensured in the PFM Act.

2. Ensure that the Ministry approved budget is executed in line with all PFM Act and all financial rules.

3. Provide guidance on all financial matters and assist the Deputy Minister for Administration (DMA) by providing periodic management reports.
