Procurement Unit

The Procurement Unit conducts all procurement activities of goods, services and works in compliance with the regulations and procedure of the Public Procurement & Concessions Commission (PPCC).

The responsibilities of the unit are to:

  1. Prepare the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ procurement plan as contemplated by Section 40 of the PPCC Act and update such plan as required;
  2. Prepare invitations to bid, requests for quotations, requests for proposals and bidding documents, including schedules and specifications;
  3. Publish and distribute invitations to bid, requests for quotations, requests for proposals and bidding documents;
  4. Receive and safeguard bids; conduct bid opening procedures in accordance with Section 61 of the PPCC Act; perform secretarial and administrative services for MYS Procurement Committee;
  5. Ensure that the procurement procedures followed are in strict conformity with the provisions of the PPCC Act, its operating regulations and guidelines; monitor and administer the performance of contracts;
  6. Assess the quality of procured goods, works, and services;
  7. Maintain a database of all suppliers, contractors and consultants;
  8.  Maintain a profile of the past performances of suppliers, contractors, and consultants with respect to their performances of contracts awarded under the PPCC Act;

And conduct such other activities of the MYS set forth in Part IV of PPCC Act relating to the foregoing as may be delegated and directed by the Procurement Committee or required by the regulations
