The Ministry of Youth and Sports has engaged the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact on Concept Two of the Challenge, focused on workforce development, particularly in Liberia’s energy sector.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has engaged the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact on Concept Two of the Challenge, focused on workforce development, particularly in Liberia’s energy sector.

The MCC team, led by Mrs. Tennen Dalieh-Tehoungue, is assessing Liberia’s skills landscape, identifying gaps and exploring how workforce development can better respond to the country’s energy needs and create opportunities for young people.

Minister of Youth and Sports Atty. Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah welcomed the engagement, emphasizing the importance of strengthening TVET and ensuring that skills training leads to employment and sustainable livelihoods.

Based on the Ministry’s experience with its TVET programs, the Minister said key adjustments and interventions are being considered for next year, subject to budgetary support and possible assistance from donors and partners.
