Ministry of Youth and Sports Strengthens Diaspora Partnership in Minnesota to Advance Youth Development

Minneapolis, Minnesota | July 30, 2026 – Liberia's Minister of Youth and Sports, Atty. Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah, on Thursday held a strategic meeting with Liberia's Consul General in Minnesota, Tracy Ashley Grigsby, and her team, as well as the Executive Director of the Organization of Liberians in Minnesota, L. Kantay Diahn, to deepen collaboration in support of youth development initiatives in Liberia.

During the engagement, Minister Kruah shared the Ministry's vision and ongoing efforts to expand opportunities for young people through education, skills development, innovation, and strategic partnerships. She encouraged the Liberian diaspora in Minnesota to serve as champions for Liberia's youth by helping identify institutions and organizations that can collaborate with the Ministry to create meaningful opportunities.

The meeting concluded with a commitment by both the Liberian Consulate and the Organization of Liberians in Minnesota to begin engaging universities, development institutions, and other entities across Minnesota to explore potential partnerships with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The Organization of Liberians in Minnesota will also engage its Board of Directors to identify specific projects through which it can collaborate with the Ministry.

The discussions laid the foundation for a sustained working relationship between the Ministry and the Liberian diaspora in Minnesota, with both sides expressing optimism that the engagement will lead to concrete partnership opportunities, including prospective assessment visits with partner institutions during future official engagements in the United States.
