MYS CERTIFIES EMPLOYEES AFTER 7 DAYS OF INTENSIVE TRAINING
In a bid to strengthen the capacity of its workforce, the Department of Sports at the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) has trained and certificated 25 employees following seven days of intensive instruction in Sports Management and Leadership.
The training covered the business and administrative dimensions of sports and recreation, including professional teams, collegiate sports, and community-based events. It was initiated by the Assistant Minister for Sports, Hon. V. Murvee Gray.
Minister Gray, a professional teacher by background, reaffirmed his commitment to staff development, stating: “We are here to build capacity, but we cannot do it alone. We need your full cooperation.”
He further emphasized his vision to strengthen the résumés of his staff for future opportunities and challenges, stressing that everyone within the department should possess the fundamental knowledge of managing a stadium. This, he noted, will ensure smooth transitions when individuals resign or retire.
Meanwhile, the Department of Sports has announced that it will shortly launch the second phase of its training program. The Ministry is encouraging all employees to take advantage of the initiative, reminding them that “no knowledge is ever wasted.”
