The Deputy Minister of Youth Development J. Bryant Byrant McGill and Assistant Minister Kuta Gbarokoly had an acquaintance meeting with Heads of Programs and Projects of the Youth Development on Monday, March 19, 2024, at the S.K.D Office in Paynesville.
Deputy Minister for Youth Development J. Bryant McGill expressed his deepest appreciation and gratitude to the Heads of programs and projects for their dedication to driving youth development initiatives within the Ministry of Youth and Sports across the country.
The Dep. Minister of Youth Development acknowledged the important role that each program head plays and will continue to play through their various programs and projects in advancing and propagating the goals of the department.
He emphasized the need for them to be more committed and create a positive image and opportunities for young people despite the challenges and lauded them for their commitment and dedication to national duties.
Deputy Minister McGill said that the department under their stewardship has a herculean task to drive the President's Youth Development Agenda and encouraged heads of programs and projects to be proactive in the execution of the task assigned to them. He said creativity, innovation, and commitment will be the hallmarks of achieving the desired goal of the department.
He averred that youth development is key to President Boakai’s agenda and wants heads of programs and projects to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism in designing and implementing their programs and projects that would be impactful to benefit youth and enhance youth development across the country.
The heads of programs and projects thanked Deputy Minister J. Bryant McGill and Assistant Minister Kuta Gbarokoly for the acquaint meeting which demonstrates good of leadership and promises to work with them in the interest of youth development. They informed the two ministers about the progress they have made and the challenges they are facing and called the Ministers to do everything they can to mitigate those challenges so that they can be more effective and proactive in the execution of the task assigned to them to enhance youth development.
Department of Youth Development at the Ministry of Youth and Sports runs several youth development programs and projects which include: REALISE, the National CADET Program, the Action for Adolescent Development Program, and the National Youth Service Program among others.
