LPRC DONATES FOOD AND SUPPLIES TO SUPPORT AT-RISK YOUTH AT LRRRC
The Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) today donated assorted food items, 10 solar panels, more than 150 mattresses, six bags of used clothing, and 90 bags of 25 kg rice to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for onward delivery to the management of the Liberia Refugee Repatriation, Resettlement
Commission (LRRRC).
These donations are intended to support at-risk youth currently housed at the LRRRC holding center.
Making the presentation on behalf of LPRC Managing Director Amos Tweh, Mr. Jacob Smith, Deputy Managing Director for Administration, said the contribution underscores the government’s commitment to restoring dignity and hope to the lives of vulnerable young people.
He commended the collaborative efforts of the Ministries of Youth and Sports, Health, Gender, the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), and the Liberia National Police (LNP) for their roles in this national intervention.
Receiving the items, Youth and Sports Minister Cllr. J. Cole Bangalu thanked the management of LPRC for the generous donation.
He called on other government ministries and agencies to join this national endeavor to restore dignity to at-risk youth, helping them to contribute to the country’s growth and development and to become productive members of society.
