Liberia and France Strengthen Youth and Sports Cooperation as Minister Kruah Meets French Minister Marina Ferrari
Paris, France – May 1, 2026 – Liberia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah, yesterday held a productive bilateral meeting with France’s Minister, Hon. Marina Ferrari, aimed at deepening cooperation in youth empowerment and sports development between the two nations.
Describing the meeting as one that bridged “two generations, two continents, and two countries and one gender with one shared mandate,” Minister Kruah emphasized the importance of international collaboration in advancing opportunities for young people and strengthening sports institutions.
The high-level engagement focused on fostering strategic partnerships between Liberia and France in the areas of youth leadership, sports infrastructure development, technical exchange, and institutional capacity building.
Among the key outcomes of the meeting was the agreement to establish a Technical Working Group (TWG) comprising representatives from both ministries. The group will be tasked with operationalizing the partnership framework and identifying practical areas of cooperation that will deliver measurable benefits for young people and the sports sector in both countries.
Minister Kruah also extended an official invitation to Minister Ferrari for a working visit to Liberia to further strengthen bilateral relations and explore firsthand the country’s youth and sports development agenda.
Minister Ferrari graciously accepted the invitation, with both teams expected to coordinate the details of the upcoming visit.
“This partnership reflects our shared belief that investing in youth and sports is investing in national development, peace, and future leadership,” Minister Kruah stated.
The meeting forms part of Minister Kruah’s ongoing working visit to France, where she has been engaging key institutions and stakeholders to advance Liberia’s youth and sports transformation agenda in alignment with President Joseph Boakai’s vision and the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports remains committed to building strong international partnerships that create opportunities for Liberian youth, promote sports excellence, and position Liberia as a growing force in regional and global youth development initiatives.
