Youth and Sports to Recruit 100 Cadets Beginning Monday

The Ministry of Youth and Sports will this Monday, June 3, 2019 begin the recruitment of 100 youths between age 18  to 35 for the 2nd  phase of the 2019 National Cadet Program.

Youth to be recruited will include recent graduates of colleges and Vocational and Technical schools and senior college students with a 2.5 GPA and above.

This 2nd phase of the program will also provide opportunities for qualified cadets to be assigned at various institutions in both the public and private sectors for three months for an on-the-job experience.

The program which is implemented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports with support from Mercy Corps and funding from the Swedish Embassy will provide stipend of US$100.00 monthly to enable cadets with transportation and lunch every month.  

This 2nd phase cadet program will for the first time assign cadets at private institutions including banks, factories, and businesses and auditing firms amongst others.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Youth and Sports is encouraging young people across the country to take advantage of the National Cadet Program for on the job experiences in preparation for real work market.
