A team of five (5) Chinese Technical and Vocational Education Professors have arrived in the country to conduct intensive 45 days intermediate TVET training at the Monrovia Vocational Training Center (MVTC).
According to a release from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the training will begin on Monday, November 5, 2018 with an official opening ceremony to be attended by many stakeholders in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training sector, including Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor.
The training is intended to upgrade the capacity of recently graduated trainees from the Monrovia Vocational Training Center in several disciplines, which includes electricity, building trade and automotive repair.
As part of its responsibilities under the Pro-poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development, the Ministry of Youth and Sports through its TVET department has committed to building the capacity of Liberia’s youthful population and giving them the needed skill set to be absorbed by the job market.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has geared up for the promotion of young Liberians as the population of Liberia is mostly youthful.
